Situated in seclusion in the breathtaking 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest, Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch offers you the perfect spot to slow down, relax and reconnect with nature and each other.
We are a small ranch with only 4 cabins and a maximum of 16 guests. But we average around 8 guests, especially during times when it is all adults. Our ranch is just the right size to give personalized attention during your stay. If you are looking for all adult times, we recommend the months of May, September, October or November when the kids are likely to be in school.
When you are a guest at our ranch you become part of the family. Solo travelers will feel very comfortable here and will find much in common with our other guests starting with a love of horses and nature!

Our main focus is on seeing the beautiful scenery by horseback. From mountain views to Ponderosa forests and open meadows to deep canyons with crystal clear streams running through them, our vast area allows for you to ride a different direction and see a new views every day of your stay. We have well-trained, responsive horses and can accommodate any level of rider from beginner to experienced.
This area has a rich and fascinating history we will share with you during your stay: You will get to explore pit houses and cliff dwellings, view pictographs and search for pottery shards and other artifacts of the Mimbres people who were here from 200-1150 AD. This is the birthplace of Geronimo and the homeland of the Chiricahua Apaches. You will also learn about Basque Sheepherders coming through the area 100 years ago and Tin Mining in the 1930’s-1940’s!
Situated within the 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest, our ranch is in a nature lover’s paradise. Rich with wildlife and birds and covering several climatic zones, there is so much to learn about and discover. We love to share our knowledge of the flora and fauna with our guests. From mountain peaks to canyon valleys, beautiful flowering meadows to spring-fed streams, you’ll enjoy pristine scenery untouched by the modern world. Don’t forget your camera!
