Welcome
We invite you to enjoy our small, family-owned New Mexico guest ranch. We are located in the mountains of the beautiful 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest of southwest New Mexico. Our New Mexico dude ranch vacations offer a relaxed and personal atmosphere. We have 4 cabins and a maximum capacity of 12-16 guests. Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch is open March through mid-November.
Horseback Rides at Our New Mexico Guest Ranch
Horseback riding here takes you through incredible deep canyons, across crystal clear spring-fed streams, to high mountain overlooks, across open meadows, and through Ponderosa forests. We have wonderful well-trained, responsive horses good for any ability to see it all by.
There are no lines or schedules here. Ride as much as you want or not at all… it’s up to you!
Horses are our passion and livelihood. As one of our guests said, “We like everything about your ranch but we especially like the way your horses are loved and treated.” This is a real dude ranch vacation and you won’t find better horses or trail riding anywhere! Horseback riding in New Mexico is a real western adventure.
More New Mexico Guest Ranch Vacation Experiences
Other activities that our guests enjoy include: seeing the 1,000-year-old archaeological sites nearby, campfires at night (sometimes with s’mores and sing-a-longs!), fantastic stargazing, unguided hiking, outdoor and indoor games, roping lessons, photography, swimming in the creek, or just reading a good book on one of our bench swings. This is also the land Geronimo was born and grew up in and the homeland of the Chiricahua Apaches.
Our altitude provides moderate temperatures year-round, making it the perfect place for outdoor activities. The climate in this area has been assessed as the best in the United States, with New Mexico averaging 275 days a year with sun. Summer days are pleasantly dry and comfortably warm, while mountain evenings are cool and crisp. Spring and Fall days are mild and sunny.
