6 Night Itinerary
6-Night Stay at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch
Below is a sample 6-night itinerary to help give you an idea of what your time at our ranch might look like. We are a small, personal ranch so we can customize your time here and adjust the schedule to suit you! We would love to talk with you on the phone or communicate by email to find out how we can make this the best vacation you have ever had!
Arrival Day: Check-in between 4-6 PM. Tour of the ranch and settle in before dinner at 6:30 PM. Rest up for the next day’s adventures in your comfortable cabin with views of the horses and porch sitting area for relaxing!
Day One: Delicious breakfast of things like eggs or pancakes, bacon or sausage, homemade muffins, and fresh fruit. Riding orientation/instruction then morning ride introducing you to your horse, the terrain, and the history of the area. Lunch with tacos, burgers or the like, salad, fresh fruit, and homemade dessert. Afternoon ride or hike to experience the beauty and expanse of the Gila National Forest. Dinner with things like Pecan Crusted Chicken, BBQ Ribs, Rainbow Trout or Grilled Ribeye steaks, homemade mac & cheese, fresh vegetables, salad, homemade bread, and of course our chef’s incredible desserts! Evening activities of your choice (campfire, line dancing, western movie, games, stargazing, etc.)
Day Two: Breakfast. Picnic Ride to the Dwelling Canyon. Enjoy a variety of terrain on your ride to and from the picnic spot with mountain views, canyons, creek crossings, and more! At the picnic spot enjoy a delicious packed lunch of sandwiches and homemade cookies from our chef, then explore the history of the area on foot: Climb up to Cliff Dwellings dating back over 1,000 years to the Mimbres people and view Pictographs! Learn about Basque Sheepherders who came through the area 100 years ago as well as Tin Mining in the 1930s and 1940s. Depending on the weather, enjoy a splash in the “Cowboy/Cowgirl Bathtub” at the end of the tour! Ride back to the ranch. Dinner and evening activities of your choice (campfire, line dancing, western movie, games, stargazing, etc.)
Day Three: Breakfast. Morning ride to explore a box canyon with some local lore! Lunch. Afternoon drive and hike to explore a 1,000-year-old pueblo village from the Mimbres people. Find pottery shards and arrowheads! Everyone will love this real-life scavenger hunt! Walk across the canyon to view pictographs. Dinner and evening activities of your choice (campfire, line dancing, western movie, games, stargazing, etc.)
Day Four: Breakfast. Morning hike to get a view from above Taylor Creek Canyon and uncover some more 1,000-year-old history! Lunch. Afternoon fishing excursion down in the beautiful Taylor Creek Canyon to try to catch the rare Gila or Apache Trout! (purchase fishing licenses prior to arrival at the ranch) Dinner and evening activities of your choice (campfire, line dancing, western movie, games, stargazing, etc.)
Day Five: Breakfast. Picnic ride through the incredible Taylor Creek Canyon including the “Narrows”. Often our guest’s favorite ride! Enjoy lunch at a beautiful spot near the water and time to explore, wade or swim in the water or relax before riding back to the ranch. Dinner and evening activities of your choice (campfire, line dancing, western movie, games, stargazing, etc.)
Check out day: Enjoy a final delicious breakfast and depart leisurely by 10:30 AM.
